Clear is without milk or cream. We refer to it as Rhode Island Clam Chowder. Manhattan is red broth and New England is with cream, like corn chowder. Then there's fish chowder, lobster bisque, shrimp and roasted corn bisque (my favorite) and the granddaddy of them all, Zuppa de pesce, a mixture of clams, muscles, and whatever other fish the chef puts in. I don't care for that one.
