Sure, it's always sad when someone whose name and work you've known for decades passes.
He was one of my favorites earlier in his career. His anti-establishment shtick was fresh and clever.
But, good lord, beat a freaking horse to death. His later work was all bitter and not very funny. He hopped around all bent over and angry looking. Using "motherfucker" as often as grammatically possible doesn't make your material incisive. So, I didn't watch him much of late.
On a somewhat similar note, I like the Penn and Teller series called "Bullshit." It's got some interesting themes. But, I'm put off by the totally unnecessary and overused profanity and crude language. Too many "motherfuckers" and "assholes." We get it already. Once is enough.
