I don't imbibe, generally speaking, but after working outdoors in oppressive heat and swarmed by nasty biting bugs ALL day, I decided to indulge and had a very simple mixed drink, citrus flavored soda and Tequila (I made sure I wasn't dehydrated before having it...hangovers are not part of the plan).
The rewards of drinking perhaps once a year: that one drink has made me feel pretty darn good.
It wasn't glamorous, but man it was well earned.
My hands are sore, palms are blistered, I'm bug-bit all over. It was a LONG day of work, fence building. 6AM to 8PM.
So what's your favorite celebratory drink? Something simple or extremely fancy?
At a New Year's Day climb up a local mountain one year, I had a chance to try several types of champagne.
Unsurprisingly the least costly was the one which most appealed to me. I'm not much of an alcohol snob.
