Re: Could you explain a little further?

A daycare here with ten to twenty kids would have at least two to four people working there. Maybe five kids to each staffer. And that would be kids beyond the infant stage. They have very strict guidelines about the numbers of carers there are according to the number of kids. At least in the "licensed" ones.
I wouldn't recommend early entry for Squeaks. My oldest nephew was born twenty minutes into a a new year (as in twenty minutes past midnight January 1) and December 31 is the cut-off date for school entry. So he was right on the borderline, by twenty minutes into the new year. He entered kindergarten "early" with kids who were older than him, some by almost a year. It wasn't a good idea, although there'd been a lot of discussion back and forth about it beforehand. He ended up repeating his kindergarten year. It wasn't unpleasant for him, because the school was set up so that kids sometimes moved back and forth. But it *was* a mistake. I'd go with the later entry.
