Re: Could you explain a little further?

A daycare situation where there might be ten to twenty kids is a whole different thing than a situation where there's a whole school of maybe a couple of hundred kids. And that's what they're proposing here.
YIKES! Even that feels like too many! Squeaks is going to be 5 in November, so he misses the cut-off by about 2 months. DH would like to see if we could get him tested so he can start early. I said no--not fair to him--he might be able to do the work, but I don't want him to struggle to keep up. The daycare I have him in is located in Nadia's basement, but she only has 8 children of varying ages and she has a definite curriculum that she starts with them at the age of 4. Squeaks started sooner with some of it b/c he thought it was fun, but she wasn't purposefully teaching him.
I worked (long LOOOOONG ago) in a for-profit daycare center. I think our room was licensed for 14 babies (8-15 months) and there wasn't enough time in the day to give each child the attention he or she deserved. It was worse for the toddlers and pre-schoolers. I can't imagine doing that to Squeaks!
