To give you an idea, my 7 year old came to the doctor with me today. (my doctor is always late) She brought a book with her, when she was done reading it, she asked if she could make up a story for me, using the pictures. I agreed. When we were called back she sat quietly and let the Doctor and I talk. On the way home she asked a few questions about what she heard us discuss. We cleaned up and went to dinner with friends. I didn't have to remind her to use her manners, she said please and thank you to the waiter. She ordered her own meal, and asked me politely to help her cut the chicken into smaller pieces. When the waiter asked what she wanted for dessert, (it was included) she said no thank you and offered it to our dinner guest. They raved about her behavior. My child has ADHD, but she is on medication and sees a counselor. She has been taught manners, and she uses them without having to be reminded. I recently invited a friend to join here that we ride motorcycles with, he can attest that my daughter came to a bike event, she was surrounded by motorcycles, of every size, shape and color but didn't touch a single bike unless the owner offered. Even then she would ask either my husband or myself first. Kids can be taught to behave, but the parents have to spend the time teaching. I'm sure luckyscore, will agree. I would bet his son is the same, respectful, and polite. ~Mandy
