These are the types of things she deals with all the time on that show. It really doesn't surprise me that parents don't know HOW to parent because they're never taught.
This is a huge pet-peeve of mine, so I will limit my time on the soapbox here, but my feeling is that parenting is one of the most important jobs people will ever have, so they should be trained for it, just like any other job. Not only would it be benificial to families, but to society as a whole.
HOwever, no one asked me....
