Mrs. Bass has been relentless when getting satisfaction with airlines. One problem to watch out for is redeeming no cost tickets. They often are officially or unofficially blocked out of some flights.
My specialty is problems with products we have purchased. One particularly bad one was a kitchen appliance didn't work the first time we turned it on-- sent it to the repair center-- it was unfixable-- they wouldn't replace it. I put a product review on Amazon, even though I didn't buy it from them, and updated it to keep it at the top of the list for 16 months. I e-mailed the company every time it did this. I finally got the replacement.
