I complain, but in a positive way. For example, I was having lunch at an outdoor cafe yesterday and had a beer (it was a micro-brewery) and the Tuscany egplant sandwich w/ fried peppers. I got one knife and one fork wrapped in one paper napkin. Three bites later the napkin was history. So, when my server was within earshot I said "Could you please bring me another beer when you have a chance, and some more more napkins. I'm making quite a mess here." She said "Sure. That's one of our messier sandwiches. I'll be right back." I could have said "Look mat this mess!! I need more napkins NOW!!!", but that would have resulted in a long wait for one napkin and a spit in my beer.
ps It might be urban legend but I have heard tales of plane crashes where the flight crew and stewards were scheduled to be let go by the airline and all passengers on board were flying on vouchers...
