Nowadays your friend could be sued by the driver for parading an extra tough house as a normal breakable one.
Steel houses have been around for a long time but at the very margins of housing. I think they could be a wave of the future because they are cheaper, fire proof, earthquake almost proof, hurricane proof (if you buy the correct design), termite proof (I have had my share of these buggers), it will be straight from the start, it will not shift over time, and it is made from 90% recyclable steel and will, presumably, be likewise recyclable.
