Bucket List- For Fun

So, I had already gone to the theater to see The Bucket List, but I rented it this weekend anyway. It's a good movie. It is a little draggy in some spots, but the point it makes is a good one. We saw it not long after a dear friend died and I wondered if she had a list. I think she was too busy fighting to make one. She lived an awesome life I know just the same.
Anyway. I was thinking I would make my own and I did. I left it in my dresser and we had a house fire not too long ago and I found it. It may never get done, but it is at least fun to think about.
1. Write a children's book. Okay that was on the list before. I read alot of children's books and some of them are great and some of them don't make a point at all.
2. Visit the Grand Canyon. Hike to the bottom, then go whitewater rafting. Then hike up and visit their spa. They have one. I heard from a friend in town.
3. Take a whole bunch of history courses just for fun. Okay, I didn't pay attention. I just memorized and took the tests. I want to actually learn from someone else. My Blake would make an excellent history teacher. He paid attention and appreciates it. Money well spend on his education.
4. Take our church youth on a real mission trip.Okay, I think we all need to learn to help others and see how others live. We could take nutritional supplements to orphanages and play games with them. Of course, then if I were there I would want to do the Safari too. Just like the movie.
5. Okay so I am a Clemson fan. All God's children are. :) It is a Saturday home game tradition that the buses bring the players from the locker room the the hill side of the stadium. They rub Frank Howard's magical rock that was brought to Clemson by a friend of his from the real Death Valley. Making this one short. I want to run down the hill.
6. Visit St. Jude's Hospital with makers, paint, playdough, scissors, stencils and just enjoy the day. I am guilty of watching theninfommercials on the hospital. I loved That Girl as a child and so....plus Graceland is in Memphis so I would see that too.
7. Visit the Great Barrier Reef. Not sure I would actually scuba dive here. But something about the corals that amaze me.
8. Dress up and trick or treat for Unicef. Who remembers this? Mama used to make us do it before we could actually trick or treat for candy. I should have done it more with an open heart. Now we buy Pampers for Unicef. One pack is one vaccine. So, I have a great nephew coming soon- I so will buy pampers.
9. Go to a final four basketball tournament. I have always been a fan of basketball. It would be great if the year I went- it was played some outrageous place like the Florida Keys. I know- I was just kidding.
10. Last one. Write letters to everyone I love and everyone who has been a true friend to me. Thank them. If you want a great book to read- read The True and Outstanding Adventures of the Hunt Sisters. Handwritten letters are invaluable.
