and that poster very well. Staying entirely out of the political arena, because I would feel this way no matter which way the poster was slanted, I think it is derivative and demeaning. It's not original--it's really rather trite. But since I remember the original, I'm obviously not a target demographic, so I *would* think it's trite. I object to the use of the word "girl." That's also a result of having been in my twenties in the sixties. If you're going to be trite and derivative, at least manage to use the word "woman," I figure. A female old enough to make sexual choices and preferences public is old enough to be called a woman.

As for the Lysistrata reference--yep, I guess it's true. Those who forget the past are condemned to relive it. (Yes, I know I've warped the quote!)
