Political correctness gone too far

I was once reprimanded (not that it bloody worked) for referring to someone "owning" a dog. I was informed by a tie-dyed hippy-dippy whom I had just met that a dog was a "canine companion" and that ownership was not part of the equation. It got worse--a parallel was drawn between "owning" a dog and "owning" a slave.
I hope she's happy in whatever state of nirvana she finally attained. One thing I am sure of is that her "vibe" for that day was totally ruined. hehehe
