People keep making political comments because you don't do
anything about it.
I don't know what prompted this entreaty, but consider the
case of a long-time member who has a well-deserved
reputation for being contentious. A couple of weeks ago,
they posted a message that was blatantly political as well
as mean-spirited. This member knows damn well that they
were straying well over the boundry line. Yet all they got
was a slap on the wrist.
The malefactors will continue to flout the rules as long as
there are no substantive consequences.
