Therein lies the problem, I think. To those of us that do it, we can't imagine that it causes discomfort to others. It's part of life. Ignoring the fact that politics is everywhere is a bit like holding one's head in the sand. Ignoring the fact that some very sexual people are sometimes driven by the political world, and lives function because of things that happen in politics IS hiding.
What of the things in life that put off others? I am not fond of talk of scat, water sports or animal sex, but there is nothing stopping others from expressing how it enhances their sex lives. I am turned on by some political discussion, but I can't offer MY excitement.
I could understand your point if you banned discussion of ANYTHING but sex. THAT would make sense to me. But banning just what YOU don't want to talk about is so very discriminatory. How many are put off by discussions of dead relatives? Or why their computer won't do this or that.
I know you are the boss here. If I don't like the rules I am free to go elsewhere. But when you put up the "On Other Matters" board, I thought that meant matters other than sexual discussion. Too bad the "other matters" are only what you want them to be.
Do you control what others say in your home? Do you really ask people who are visiting your home to only discuss that which YOU want to discuss?
You pointed out how strongly some feel about such discussion. Where do they post that information? What do they talk about concerning how politics affects everyone, even sexually? How do they reconcile the way politics affects their everyday lives. All of that can affect sexuality, can't it?
