Another question. Any carpenters or engineers in the house?

I have noticed that most saws cut into the stock from above. Table saws, bandsaws, chain saws, handsaws, chop saws, radial arm saws, etc. all cut with the teeth rotating downward. An exception I have observed is the Skilsaw or handheld circular saw whose teeth engage the stock from below with the teeth rotating upward.
