I agree with your general principle that funerals are for the living. I also go to the funerals and celebrations of friends and relatives to honor them and to help me deal with the loss. However, I try to live by a specific set of ethical values, and I really don't want my corpus used to violate them. I would also be upset if one of my friends or relatives were dishonered by a practice that he/she would have objected to. I suspect that you agree on some level because of your list of "I couldn't be happy ---" examples. Bass
