If you want to have a service, open casket, or whatever, that's your perogative. If it's what you want when you go, then power to ya. But to do so for someone who does NOT want any of that is beyond disrespect. I would consider it an outright slap in the face. What if it was the other way around? What if you wanted a funeral so friends and family could deal with your passing, and someone insisted on having you cremated immediately and spreading your ashes because their way of dealing with it is to not be reminded that you're dead? How would you feel about that? Once you're gone, you're gone, but you should still be able to have your last wish respected, whoever you may be. My opinion. Now back to your regularly scheduled forum.
