When my friend Rip died his wife knew he wanted his ashes spread over Big Bear (a mountain in Southern California). He loved Big Bear.
While making the arrangments she asked the funeral director how she could get an airplane to get it done. He told her it is illegal to throw ashes out of an airplane. She called me, crying, not knowing how to fulfill her husband's wishes. I got intouch with the company he had worked for and explained the problem to the owner. He immediately sent the company airplane to the Ontario airport so she could get the job done that day.
I think throwing ashes in the Pacific will be easier.
