Well, there is a right way to do things and a wrong way to do things. I'm sure seeing anyone use a cattle prod on a dog would make one skittish about anything remotely like that. But from what I've read, bark collars and electrical barriers that are used properly can be effective and humane.
We've got the same thing going on again today, but my puppy girl has already decided to just curl up and take a nap next to me and ignore the workers today after a a couple of minutes of barking and "wuffing" under her breath, without needing to be crated. I guess what I've done has been effective. She really is a good girl; she listens and learns. Makes me proud. :)
