I don't understand the human race

And I can't think of anything more utterly barbaric than open casket funerals. What a horrible, horrific thing to do, to both the living AND the dearly departed. A lot of people have wanted to argue the point with me, but it's my honest opinion. The last thing I EVER want to do is see a loved one in that state. And, pardon the pun, I wouldn't want to be caught dead in that condition myself either. I want to remember my loved ones as they were in life, not death. I don't want or need nightmare fodder.
No funerals here. Go straight to the wake. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. If people feel the need to talk and remember, then let it be in a happier atmosphere.
Besides, I am not a religious person, but the rest of the family seems to be. Some very much so. I don't want anything done, but there are always some family members who will insist on doing things the way they believe they should be done, and that worries me. If it comes to that, I'm hoping my husband and/or oldest daughter will still be around to keep them from doing anything I would hate.
