my much-loved ex-mother-in-law. She has all her family recipes written out and contained in an old garage parts-book binder. There will be blood when she finally departs, about who gets "The Book."
Personally, I think it should go into a museum collection. It's a piece of local history, including things like "Great-Great Grandmother Surprise's Pemmican Recipe." Considering ex mom-in-law is in her late eighties and that lady was *her* g-g-grandmother, that gives you an idea how old that one is. A page I once consulted was "How to Tan a Bear Hide." Worked, too. :-)
