Well, one main difference as far as the restaurants go is that while servers on both sides get tips, the ones on your side have to get minimum plus tips & the ones on this side don't. They get 1/2 of the old minimum wage (don't recall the exact year, but I don't think I was old enough to drink when it went into affect) of $4.25 an hour. Since over here they need your tips more, they kiss your ass more.
