Propagation delay; why? Re: Speed of light

The delay you're currious about is called propagation delay.
Raidiated/ transmitted signals travel at close to the speed of light, so everyones attempt at estimating the propagation delay is pointless.
The actual reason for the propagation is 90% caused by the time for the signal of interest to be processed by/ pass through the varrious solid state devices, ie, tranistors, intergrated circuits. Silicon devices are very slow, and there are countless silicion devices in both the transmit/ uplink, and again in the recieving/ downlink. And the propagation delays from all the silicon devices in both the transmit/ uplink, and the recieving/ downlink, is what actually is the cause of the out of sync delay.
Now if all the electronic devices in every step of the studio, and transmit, and receiving stages where all made using electron tubes, then there would be trivival/ no perceptual progation delays because tubes devices are much much faster than silicon devices. But of course, 99% of modern equipment is made with silcon devices becauses they are 1) smaller, and 2) much much more energy efficient.

I have noticed the delay in my satellite internet, but I have no idea what equipment and/or broadcast decisions result in the long delay. > >Bass >
