Having had salmonella in the sixties, everyone who's been infected has my sympathy. And the families of those who've died. More bowel "oopsies" than I ever want to remember, almost non-stop vomiting, convulsions. Never knew until then that you could get Gravol (Dramamine in the US) as shots. Always thought they were just pills. I couldn't sue the source because no one thought to save any stomach contents. Had to have a whole separate set of eating utensils from everyone else for weeks, in case I passed it along. Very, very scarey. But none of my patio tomatoes are ripe yet, sorry.
