1) Yes, you can get HD signals from your antenna, BUT the last time I checked, the free programming that was available was A) extreemely limited, and B)was available only around large cities like NYC.
2) Unlike cable providers, ALL satalite broadcasts have ALWAYS been digital in even their most basic satalite service plans
3) Just like cable providers offering premium HD service; Satalite HD is also available as a premium
Furthermore, its pointless to watch an old or low budget program on any providers HD channel, ie, the program material needs A) to have been produced/ filmed in HD, AND B) broadcast in HD, AND watched on a HD TV, to realize/ see the improvement.
