Convicted felons and name changes

I suspect this might be a state-by-state issue (if there's an issue at all), but I know convicted felons lose the right to vote.
Do they lose the right to change their names legally? I've heard that the ease or difficulty of changing one's name varies from state to state, so even if this isn't prohibited, it might be difficult to do so.
