I think part of the concern was that the pain meds they used for recovery were really strong for small children; I know that they gave me oxycodone. I recall a case on the news where the pharmacist couldn't read the hand-writing on the prescription and filled it for a much stronger pain medication than was prescribed (I think he accidentally gave her demerol when she was supposed to get darvacet). The girl, who was three, was given one dose and died .
