From the perspective of 74 years, I can't complain. I have always wanted to be a physicist, and I got to do that. I loved to teach, and I did that. I loved to write, and I am still doing that. And while I don't plan out as far as 15 years ( :-) !) I am still quite busy on the lecture circuit and doing a number of things that seem to make a real impression on the quality of US science education.
Did I ever win that Nobel prize? Well, no. Such are the tragic disappointments of life.
