Well, we kind of regard part of December, and January and February as our worst months, but that's on the mild west coast, where it doesn't get that cold. But winter will begin late August in the northern territories. Which is a good thing--it kills off the horseflies, mosquitoes and no-see-ums. It comes as a relief.
But this cop was standing in a bitter wind on a piece of prairie, and he must have been frozen. Surprised he didn't develop hypothermia, what with the windchill factor. Stood there for about forty-five minutes without moving.
