that in the old days it was a requirement that the tunic be skintight and nothing was to be worn underneath it? I'm referring to pre-"We'll now recruit women" days, so I'm assuming the ladies can wear bras with the dress tunics.
Discovered this while standing in a cold November wind on the bald prairie, at a memorial service on an Indian reserve. After it was over, and I was feeling like a popsicle, I said something about coldness to the RCMP officer who'd been standing next to me. That's when I found out he was bare naked under his tunic. Told me it was a regulation. Think it still is for male officers.
That's probably why we never see a cop up here with a "donut belly."
