Non-monogamy was new to my partner so we talked it through very carefully at every stage. I am not a jealous person so there was very little, from my side, that I wanted off-limits. I was very clear that I was not interested in polyamory and so that was off the table. And at my request, she has anal sex with no one but me -- that is part of the larger D/s dynamic of our relationship.
She was hesitant about introducing another woman into our play and it was quite a while before we did so. When we decided to go ahead she requested that it only be with a woman who is partnered and that we play with her/them together. Having done that a few times, she has relaxed and we are now open to playing with men, women or couples.
The only other limit she requested when we were starting out was that we always play together. Again, that has relaxed as she has become more confident with herself.
So I guess the moral of this story is talk lots, be honest about what you want/don't, and respect each others limits, always recognising that those limits may very well change over time.
