If I could play amateur shrink here... it sounds to me like both of her tendencies indicate low self-esteem and insecurity. 1 - being a slut herself could possibly indicate the constant need for reassurance that she is desirable. 2 - getting overly protective of him and jealous is an indicator of insecurity - fear that he will find someone else more pleasurable or attractive and dump her for them - or that he will want someone else more.
While they seem to present a double standard, I don't think they are contradictory within her.
