Re: Gene behind female-to-male transsexuality identified
|
| |
"It seemed clear from the article that many people, male and female, have this gene and do not feel as though they are gender dysphoric and many women who are gender dysphoric don't have it, so obviously the causes are far more complicated than this one discovery can account for".
If that's true, doesn't that make this little more than sensational headlines? Isn't this like finding a gene that makes one crosseyed, and publishing a paper on it, until it's discovered that normal vision people also have the gene? I mean, if they ALL had the gene, and others who weren't transsexual and have no "push" in that direction, DON'T have it, then I would say it was clear. But if some have it, some don't, some nontrans people have it and some don't, to me that would indicate it's just another gene that can't be proved out.
It seems to need more research before anyone can call it science.
