In the 70s and 80s, when there was female nudity in a mainstream movie, it was quite common to see not only a woman's breasts but her pubic hair as well.

Nowadays, you don't get as much nudity as we used to.  But I'm wondering, with shaved pussies seemingly being all the rage these days, what would be the implications of an actress showing her bare pussy in a feature film?

Let's say an A-list actress had a scene calling for full frontal nudity, and in her real life she shaves her pussy.  Would it be acceptable to show her shaved, or would she be expected to grow her hair back in order to be filmed?

Maybe only film people can answer this.  But while I've seen plenty of female pubic hair in mainstream movies, I've never seen a pussy minus its pubic hair.

My guess is that the studio would not want a bare pussy to be seen--too unnatural.  Plus, it makes me think that the actress would want to cover her labia up--too personal to show.   And the question would be, is she shaved because of her character, or does she shave in real life, too?

What do you think?

Well, there's always the merkin.
A similar issue arose about a week ago. I was with a group of people attending a performance of Shakespeare's All's Well That Ends Well. One of the actresses, who was wearing a sleeveless dress with a low-cut back, had an extensive tattoo that went down her spine and under her dress. The part one could see was very distracting from the action of the play, and this seemed to be the consensus of my group, including one lady who had a tattoo herself.

Great Scott1!

Do you miss the olde 8mm porns of the past where the men wore black socks and fake moustaches?

Until last week I had never heard of a merkin and suddenly I heard it twice in one week.

You inspired me to look it up.

Thanks!

You talked about full frontal nudity in the 70's and 80's.  You should check out the wonderful full frontal nudity scenes in this 1934 Tarzen movie...

There was something beautifully natural about the early porn movies and those bushy bushes. In terms fo your question, I would expect that a professional actress would adopt whatever beaver shave the part called for.
